HAZARD COMMUNICATION STANDARD
Effective May 25, 2012 OSHA revised the Hazard Communication Standard to assimilate with the Global Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. OSHA has opted to “phase-in” the Hazard Communication Standard changes over several years. The first phase, training employees on new labeling requirements and the Safety Data Sheets (SDS), is required to be completed by DECEMBER 1, 2013. To assist agencies, State Risk will conduct a training seminar.
